This crane walked right up behind me as I was taking pictures on the beach. Someone said turn around and I took his picture. Then he walked over behind Sara to check her out. As you can tell by my face, the water was shockingly cold at first, but didn't take long to get used to and then we were out playing in the waves. Tate had a great time in downtown Omaha yesterday. He went and rode a goose while waiting to see daddy run at different times. He enjoyed his day very much.

A couple of weeks ago after a wedding we went to Eric's van (it had the car seat) to take Tate back to the hotel and he had a flat tire. Tate, we thought was tired, but boy did he have a time with the tire changing. Grandpa got the donut tire out of the back and laid it on the ground and Tate kept pointing and telling Grandpa, "broken Grandpa, broken". THEN when Grandpa took of the lug nuts he had to show Sara and I that Grandpa had broken that also. He was so amazed at how it all came apart and went together again. Daddy may some day go out to his car and Tate will be fixing the tire. And the next picture is really precious.

They were down and putting their arms and legs up but he didn't grasp that part too well. The second one is him trying to get two little girls to do some dance moves with him, but he was too fast of a dancer for them.

This is Tate in the tux he wore for the ring bearer job he did for his aunt Jenny's wedding on Saturday. Grandpa is getting ready to pin on his flower for the picture taking event. He did very well for a 20 month old. Plus his shirt was a size 6, the pants were also, but they tacked them up about 6 inches so his crotch was really low, but he didn't look too bad once all was tucked in and pulled up above the waist. Oh and the shoes were 2 sizes too big. The tux place didn't tell them they had nothing that small until the morning before the wedding. So he pulled it off well. We went back to the hotel and changed for the dancing, and those pictures will come later, he REALLY enjoyed that part.

Eric and Angi were looking for a picnic table and Chuck mentioned that we don't use our much anymore so they could take ownership. It was John Deere colors with yellow benches and a green top and I decided I would decorate it up some for them. Now we just have to get the heavy thing to them.

Last Saturday night we went to the sprint car races in Knoxville with Sara. She got some free tickets at work so we thought we would see what they were like. It is a little "loud" as Tate would hold his ears and say, but it was really fun to watch those little cars go very fast around that 1/2 mile track. Oh, and it was also VERY hot on those metal bleachers looking into the sun, the drink line was always about a 1/2 mile long also. :) We each drank about 2 bottles of liquid when we got to the car. Remember if you want to see the cars better, you can just click on the picture and it will show a bigger view.

We went to Old Chicago to eat after a hard day of washing cars and Tate had his own pizza with dipping sauce in a huge bowl. And as you can tell, he loved every bit of it, plus the posing. ( He ate the spinach and articoke pizza too that Sara and Grandma ordered, but his daddy wouldn't try it.

we had a little car washing project at home on Saturday and Tate thought Sara needed a little extra help with her dirty vehicle. He didn't wring out the mitt too well and water was all over him and the mitt was almost as heavy as he was when he pulled it up out of the bucket.

This is Mary Kay, Chuck, Jay and Dot when we went to the Taste of Omaha a few weekends ago. We were listening to a concert and chatting before we all took off for home. The second picture is a gondola on the water there at the Conagra area which is also what we could have been watching. It was a beautiful day and if anyone has the chance they should go next year, they have all the food places set up booths and you buy tickets to purchase the food from whatever place sounds good to you at the time. You also can walk down to the Missouri to Rick's Boat house (that is a place to eat) and there is a talent show usually going on there and other booths selling different items.

We got a chance to see the race car at the UPS party. It has not done well this year in NASCAR, but then neither has my favorite. Tate is coloring a paper airplane that we assembled and then tried to throw into holes, that was not easy, but he did a good job of designing it though. Here also (because I messed uploading, it was giving me fits) are some photos of our flowers in front of the patio.

Tate got a tatoo at the UPS party. He is riding a truck that is really not a riding toy but loves to try it anyway. I am pushing a button on the front that makes a motor sound (plus holding the front end down.)

This is kind of blurry, but the lighting is very bad in the center of the ship for picture taking (they want you to buy their pictures for 20.00 each). But these are two of the second place golf tourney champs. Chuck got in on at the last minute on Eric's team because someone failed to show for the finals.

Tate didn't like the noise of the mower at first when we started it up in the garage, but boy when grandpa took it to the yard he was all about getting on and riding. I had the yard all mowed so they were just playing around, wasting my precious gas. Oh the things we do for grandkids.

Tate and Grandpa had a good time at the UPS 100 years party on Saturday. Tate raced the "Brown Truck" (see Grandpa taking the picture in the side window? ) then Grandpa helped him get into a semi. It was a hot day but we got an ice pop at the end of our party. We didn't have time to eat there we had to get to another party in Fremont.

The bar at the back of the ship was never opened but we would take our drinks back there and watch for whales and let the breeze take us away. One day it was either too much breeze or too much drink or just too much in general, but the ceramic tile was really nice and warm.

Our first outing off the ship and I guess Sara didn't want to be left there. :) This is in Ketchikan, the city is right along the water and so beautiful. I had to put a colored paper (that is the purple around the edge) behind the picture or the scanner would not pick up the light mountains and sky. The wind really played havoc with the clematis on our trellis but they are still very beautiful. Some wrens have built a nest in there and we can't even see them. The only reason we know they are there is when we walk by they make so much noise. Chuck couldn't figure it out at first what the noise was and they didn't make the noise when I walked by, but then I stomped my feet as I went and they started to chirp. Sometimes they fly out and try to distract us away. Such fun.

This is one of the many interesting things they did with food on the cruise. That is cauliflower that makes up that lamb, with a pepper hat, and a carrot for a tail. They were so neat !!!! They let us tour the galley and I really enjoyed that tour. The kitchen was so BIG and NEAT.

Mary Kay took a picture of us eating lunch in a chuckwagon. The tables in the building were all full and they had a line of these wagons just outside for people to eat in. We thought it was kind of neat, but we must have been the only ones, because nobody else came out to use the others. This is in Carcross, Canada.

This is one of the puppies that will be used for dogsledding when he gets old enough. They were giving dogsled rides in the background (if you paid them enough) There were dogs everywhere.

This is an awesome 80 mile long lake which was beside the road almost all of the way to Carcross, Canada, in the Yukon.

PING PONG WAS ONE WAY THAT WE KEPT FIT FOR ALL THE FOOD THAT WE CONSUMED ON OUR ALASKAN CRUISE. ALSO A PICTURE OF SOME OF US ENJOYING THE VIEW OF TRACY ARM FJORD. IT WAS BEAUTIFUL. WE ALL WORE MATCHING JACKETS TO FIND EACH OTHER BETTER, PLUS BY THE END OF THE CRUISE WE WERE KNOWN AS THE "BLACK AND BLUE CREW".

EATING WAS WHAT WE DID MOST ON THE CRUISE (THE BREAD STICKS WERE GREAT), BUT WE DID GET SOME WORKOUTS IN TOO. WE WOULD WALK THE JOGGING TRACK, AND DO SOME "LEG LIFTS" IN THE SPA. BELIEVE IT OR NOT THE WATER WAS NICE EVEN THOUGH YOU HAD TO WALK BACK TO YOUR ROOM IN 45 DEGREE WEATHER.

This may be a little dark but Sara, Chuck and I went to Ledges State Park last Saturday to do some hiking. It was a beautiful day and the wind didn't hit us so hard down in the valley where we were hiking. Chuck took us on a path of steps and we got to the top and turned a new way, oh yes, new it was, we ended up running out of our path and had to find our own way down out of the hills. Sara screamed when a squirrel ran out from under some brush right beside her, and I jumped also. I was of course watching for snakes, we did make it down the hill before it got too dark, as you can tell in this picture.

We went out to eat for my birthday last weekend. Of course Tate and family and Sara came along also. We had a great time as you can tell by the picture. Tate had some cheerios for a snack and ate all of the colored ones and didn't want the plain ones. Picky eater like his dad I suppose. :)
